(Note: This is a follow-up thread to a previous topic that I posted a couple of days ago which can be read here:https://ift.tt/2agtbyp the website https://ift.tt/GVbWSd4 you will read a claim that Monero is the "only" cryptocurrency that is anonymous by default. The full statement is"Unlike selectively transparent alternatives (e.g. Zcash), Monero is the only cryptocurrency where every user is anonymous by default."I have an issue with this statement because I know it is false and it has been false for years. No one in my original thread refuted that it is false. The best defense people could come up with was "It was true when written". In my opinion, that is a pretty pathetic defense when other privacy coins that are private by default have been in circulation for years. For example, Aeon is private by default and has been in circulation for over SEVEN YEARS!!! Is the official website of Monero just going to forever make this claim which a blatant falsehood? Of the thousands of cryptocurrencies in circulation, there are literally hundreds that have a legitimate claim to being private by default. The people who are in charge of that website, a reasonable person would have to conclude, are either ignorant, deceptive, or remarkably lazy. Which is it?Some people suggested that I change it myself. I am willing to do this and in my original thread I even proposed a couple of suggestions for modifying it. But I do feel a little out of place making the change myself when there are probably thousands of people more qualified than me to change it. But if no one else will change it, maybe I will change it.Like I said in my original thread it's not terribly important to me that it be changed but, as someone who believes in Monero, I do have a problem reading something on the most important Monero website that I know is false and has been false for years.Pretty much all crypto communities go around shilling their coins by blatantly deceiving and lying. Is the Monero community any different? I would like to think so.Thank you!!!(Full disclosure: I do own many privacy coins, including Monero, which is how I know that its claim to being the "only" one is a falsehood. This thread is posted in good faith and is not meant to hurt Monero or people's perception of Monero. It is merely trying to point out something that is obvious and will be obvious to many other people.)
