P2Pool difficulty adjustment

I tried to find this in the Docs, but probably overlooked it. On the P2pool side chain how often or how does the difficulty adjustment work? I would think it would have to adjust as often as the monero difficulty adjusts, but thought I would reach out and see if that was correct. Just wondering out of curiosity.
