Why did the PolyNetwork hackers not "clean" their money via anonymous cryptos like monero?

In this video: https://youtu.be/iB7hJA1Eo2I?si=Z5uWvxmv4xDGavRT at 5:09The youtuber says that the hacker cannot really do anything with the funds he stole because the world is "watching". Of course the hacker can't transfer the stolen money to other wallets via bitcoin/eth/tether because he would, indeed, be followed closely by the internet. However, what stopped him from "cleaning" the money by selling it for monero?Pretty much all the big exchanges had blacklisted him at that point (not that it really mattered since most required kyc anyway) but surely there was a bunch of services that weren't so "on top of their game" regarding hackers and blacklisting their wallets or just generally didn't care, right? I would guess that such services wouldn't have high enough volume to clean 600M$ but if you can get out with a couple millions that would still be extremely good (apart from the fact that its stolen obv lol).So what am I missing here? Why was he "stuck" with the 600M$? Kind of a blockchain noob obv.
