Is it necessary to send Monero to a deposit address on the exchange before sending it to your own wallet?

So I’ve been trying to make my first trade on local Monero, and ofc I need to provide an address for the Monero to be sent to. Apparently it is possible to either send it to the on site deposit address then send it to my own address(gui/feather/cake) or to send it directly to my own address, however I was wondering if it could possibly be detrimental to opsec to send it directly to my personal wallet? Would it be possible for the exchange to trace the Monero after I send it to a DNM and blacklist me from the platform?I know this would probably be better suited to r/monero, but darknet discussion isn’t allowed there so if any1 on here could help that would be great.
